Dracula Untold Movie Review

I must admit that I was not required to read this story in grade school so I'm really not familiar with the back story. That being said this movie was... eh. Entertaining for the moment but I did not fall in love with it. Definitely much better than Twilight but still... eh. Dracula definitely kicked some ass. There were a couple gory moments but not enough for me. I left unfulfilled. As if I had some really great garlic bread but the main dish was bland. I also had some questions but hey... every movie is allowed to have a couple "cheats". I'd say go see a matinee or wait for it to arrive in Redbox. I give this one a 7 out of 10. I'm going to read the story now.

Gaurdians of the Galaxy Movie Review

Great special effects especially for 3D. Great story line. The opening scene was heart wrenching. I expected Vin Diesel to have more lines. All of the guardians were well cast. The witty raccoon and the loving tree were the best characters. Their special gifts trumpeted over the other guardians. The corny scenes were intentional and funny and so was Bautista. Definitely a must see 8.5 out of 10

Lucy Movie Review

Lucy could have kicked so much more ass if it added a little something to the stew. I'm not sure what was missing but I expected a little more action. Maybe that was my fault. The bad guy should have really suffered I would think. Still a good movie. 7 out of 10.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie Review

If you weren't aware this movie is all about April.  The story line: changed, quite a bit, and there was a shortage of ninja qualities... the foot clan were real thugs... all guns no ninjas and no Casey Jones. There were a lot of funny parts but only involving the Ninja Turtles themselves. Quite dead. Lots of DEAD and lots of product placement. The back story between Splinter and Shredder is null. I also did not like the fact that April turned out to be a goddess of sorts and the Ninja Turtles worship her and were her pets pretty much. If you don't mind a totally different story then you may enjoy this movie. Hell, it really didn't have to be about the Ninja Turtles but of some other mutant animal. Lovers of the "authentic" Ninja Turtle will be very disappointed... its nothing like we had expected. Overall, a six out of 10.

X-Men days of Future Past Moview Review

Good movie. I have a couple favorite scenes. Must watch in the theater. Even though its not aligned with comics you can still enjoy it. A little confusing, as the title can hint, since you have to try to connect it with the other movies. Go see it. 8 out of 10

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Movie Review

This was a great movie. CGI is awesome. Very exciting movie. You may find yourself emotionally involved. One ape in particular is quite "gangsta". Great lead into the next one. I would go see it again in the movie theater. I would not suggest watching this without having watched the first one.  9 out of 10.

The Amazing Spider Man 2 Movie Review

Depending on your personal preferences you either really liked this movie or really hated it. I enjoyed this movie. The visuals were pretty cool. A lot of the same ol' same ol' but what do you expect? This is like the 17th version of the same story. Not much to say since we know the story already. 7 out of 10.

Neighbors movie review

If you have seen Seth Rogan's past movies you should expect some of the same. This movie was basically a continuation of past work. A funny movie that makes you laugh out loud but no so much for the comedy but out of shock. Zach Efron was also funny which may or may not shock a lot of people. You can catch it on DVD. I give it a 7 out of 10.

Haunted House 2 Movie Review

Haunted House 2 was funny but you don't have to catch it in the movie theater. You can wait for it to come out on DVD. A lot of the jokes made the movie. BUT I was confused at times because I was unsure of who the target audience is; children or sex addicted adults? Marlon Wayans is able to express his opinions on entertainment and race through movies and other outlets of entertainment. Haunted house 2 is highly sexual in nature. Do not bring the kids. You can also wait for it to be available on DVD. 7 out of 10.

Captain America Movie Review

Captain America was exciting and worth the price of admission.  Full of cool gadgets and espionage. Very good movie. Go see it. 8 out of 10.

The Lego Movie - Movie Review

The fact that I have to add a dash in the title of this post shows the type of humor you will enjoy from this movie. A great and truly original movie. I love creativity and there is much to anticipate. A fun movie where you really don't care about the story as much you do the visual effects, characters, and satire. Seeing it once is not good enough. You are bound to miss some joke or image. I will definitely buy this one; its enjoyable for all ages. Its refreshing that I'm not the only one who finds batman a little annoying. Great jokes, you'll find yourself laughing louder than the kids. Enjoy both in the theater and at home and never lose the child within you... stupid President Business and bad cop! :) 9 out of 10 only because the movie feels longer than it needs to be!

RoboCop Movie Review

I was able to catch RoboCop a couple weeks ago and I was surprised that the storyline was pretty much nothing like the original. Despite this fact it kept me interested. Its rare to find a remake thats better than the original. This one was far from better and I almost feel like they had to change the story up to keep your attention. I was convinced into going to see this one and I thought it would be corny. It wasn't as corny as I expected. The action scenes were exceptional and the unknown actor did well. Of course Samuel L. Jackson yells at some point in the movie. Rated PG 13... yes. The suit still looks stupid to me no matter what color it is. I give this one a 7 out of 10. Not bad.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty Movie Review

Not a complete waste of time as some of the movies I've reviewed, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty takes you on a trip to destinations you only imagine of actually going to. This is fitting since the main character zones out and finds himself lost in imagination. The special effects and cinematography in this film deserves a grade of A although the actual story line is a bit empty. Everyone who fears stepping out of their comfort zone can relate to Walter Mitty but we are left unfulfilled because we don't know what Walter Mitty will do next. We are led to believe he will continue a mundane life but after all he went through, he should be much like the CEO of Virgin Mobile. I enjoyed the movie personally. There were moments where I found myself laughing out loud but not hysterically (I didn't expect to). A smart humor. I would definitely reccomend (did I really just say "smart humor" and misspell recommend?... yes) seeing this in the theater but catch a matinĂ©e deal. "Beautiful things don't ask for attention". I give this film a 7.5 out of 10.
